I am a formally trained Mechanical Engineer and Veterinary Technician with practical experience and deep personal and professional interests in the fields of applied engineering, astrophysics, cosmology, biology, math, literature, sociology, arts, and more. I joined UC Davis in 2013, first as an Engineering Aide, and then as the R&D Engineer for a thermochemistry lab, where I had the opportunity to work one-to-one with various researchers and support them throughout their projects; since 2019, I have been assisting MAE as the Department’s Safety Coordinator. By joining this lab I am hoping to not only get a step closer to fulfilling my childhood dream of being an astronaut, but to also use my understanding of biology and engineering to help bridge together these fundamentally different worlds, and create an exciting artificial symbiosis that could revolutionize our daily lives.
In my free time I enjoy reading, lifting heavy objects, carrying hefty bags to beautiful places, applying physical principles to performance arts, and trying to find at least one musical instrument I could learn to play properly.
