Bio
Katie is a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing an individual major in Astrobiology with Emphasis on Human Physiology. In order to pursue her strong interests in both biological and space sciences, Katie designed her own major curriculum with an in-depth study of human biology as well as courses in astrophysics, planetary sciences, and aerospace engineering. Katie aims to use this interdisciplinary education to study the effects of spaceflight on the human body.

As a member of the HRVIP Lab, Katie uses her background in the biological sciences to support the Space Ambulance project and the REPAS (Robotically Enabled Precision Agriculture for Space) project.

Katie loves to pursue and share her passion for space with others outside of the lab, as well. She has designed, built, and presented interactive booths to teach elementary school children about the solar system and ISS, and works as a Roofhelper for an astronomy lab class at UC Davis, where she teaches students the basics of telescope use and how to navigate the night sky.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, playing badminton, playing guitar, and spending time outdoors.
