Casey is a second year Master's student and team lead for the CHANGES project, which is developing a novel non-pharmaceutical countermeasure device to space adaptation sickness. She is designing a parabolic flight study to validate the technology, which will fly in December 2021. Since graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2017, she has worked here at HRVIP as an associate researcher with an emphasis on human factors in aerospace systems and experimental human-machine interfaces. She worked as a research intern with the Human-Computer Interaction Group at NASA Ames from June 2020-May 2021, and currently also serves as Program Coordinator for the STEM Outreach for Academic Reinforcement (SOAR) program, which connects 5th-grade students with UC Davis mentors through a variety of STEM-centric activities throughout the school year.
