Ashna Reddy is pursuing a B.S. at UC Davis in mechanical engineering. In the HRVIP lab, Ashna is working on haptics feedback for manual robotic control as part of the Morpheus project. Previously, she worked on the exciting NASA-funded HDD CubeSat Project in which she helped develop the computer vision system and design of the containment volume for the CubeSats on the Zero-G parabolic flights. Through the flights, she got to experience a microgravity environment!
Ashna has interned at the PACCAR Innovation Center where she conducted radar field testing and evaluation for autonomous trucks, at Tesla as a reliability data engineering intern analyzing fleet data to help optimize their vehicle and charging products and at NASA Langley where she worked on the material characterization of novel resins and composites for use on space deployable structures.
On the side, Ashna is the executive producer and host of the Sparklink Podcast on Spotify and Apple. In it, she chats with young adults from around the world (including two UC Davis alumni!) about their ventures that aim to solve some of society’s biggest issues. Some examples of episode topics include building solar dehydrators to reduce food waste and utilizing artificial intelligence to stop gun violence.
In her free time, Ashna enjoys traveling, hiking and playing tennis and basketball!
